Pregnancy Ticker

26 Weeks

Big sister Tay knows that there's a baby in mommy's tummy, but I don't think she has any idea what that actually means. We're getting excited to meet him! And yes, I just realized this is the same shirt I was wearing for the 24-week photo. Maternity clothes that fit are getting sparse!

Baby Williams is 14 inches this week - the length of an english cucumber - and weighs about 1.75 lbs. His newest trick is grasping things (like the umbilical cord). His ears are better developed and he can now hear mommy, daddy and Taylor's voice. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. This is good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air.

24 Weeks

My little medical problem went away and the doctor cleared me to resume physical activity. Yay! I'm also now enjoying the heartburn portion of the pregnancy, and swigging a bottle of Maalox several times a day. Fun times!

Baby Williams is the length of an ear of corn - almost a foot long - and still weighs just over a pound. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop.

22 Weeks & Baby's 1st Gift

Travis felt the baby kick several times last night. What a cool thing that he got to finally say "hi" to daddy!

Baby Boy received his first gift this week. Auntie Mar and Uncle Bob mailed him his very own "big brother" onesie. So adorable! Thanks, M & B!

Baby Williams is the length of a spaghetti squash (about 11 inches) and almost 1 lb. His lips, eyelids and eyebrows are more distinct, and he's developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. His eyes have formed, but his irises still lack pigment.

21 Weeks

It's official! Two strangers this weekend asked if I am pregnant. That means I officially look pregnant and not just fat - yay!

The doctor discovered a small medical complication during my last ultrasound (I'll spare the details) so I've been ordered to have no physical activity for 4 weeks. I'm praying things go back to normal; my rapidly-expanding butt and I need to get back to the gym!

Baby Williams is the length of a carrot this week - about 10.5 in. long - and 3/4 of a pound. His eyebrows and eyelids are present now, and he's starting to sleep and wake in cycles. Hope he does that after he's born, too!

Once Upon a Time...

Also, 5 years ago today, I met my babies' daddy for the very first time. I am so thankful for that day! What an amazing, blessed adventure we're on!

20 Weeks - Halfway There!

We're finally halfway through this pregnancy. Woohoo! Baby Boy is moving a lot more these days, but still not enough for Daddy to feel it. He also gets the hiccups a lot, just like his big sister.

Baby is the length of a banana this week - about 10 inches from head to heel - and weighs about 10.5 ounces.

Something Between There

Our poll was split 50/50 between a boy and a girl, but you know what, 50 percent of you were wrong!

Ladies and gentlemen, we are having a.....BOY! Yes! A little boy! Wow. Totally unexpected.

There we were in the ultrasound room watching images of black, white, and gray. It's really hard to tell what's going on with an ultrasound, but I had a hunch a boy might be in the works when I saw what looked to be a dangling participle flash across the screen.

Sure enough, the ultrasound tech, blurted out (after we turned on the video camera) that we were indeed having a boy!

We're both shocked and excited to prep for LIL BITTY #2 the Boy Version! It's going to be a fun ride from here on out, so hold on tight!

18 Weeks

Baby is more active these days and is growing so much that I've already had to visit the physical therapist for sciatic pain. Though baby is busy growing, mommy's growth has been a bit slower. Anyone who doesn't know I'm pregnant, probably just thinks I need to lay off the ice cream and chips.

Baby is the size/length of a bell pepper this week. Average size is 5.5 oz and 7 inches. Baby has become very mobile, passing the hours yawning, hiccuping, rolling, twisting, kicking, punching, sucking and swallowing.

Boy or Girl?

We get to find out April 7 if Baby Williams is a boy or girl, and we can't wait! We both think it's a girl. What do you think? Cast your vote in the poll at the right of the blog!

16 Weeks

I felt the baby move for the first time this week. So cool! There's nothing like that first little twitch to remind you that you're not just getting fat. :) I'm still not wearing maternity clothes yet but I have a feeling that'll be right around the corner because things are starting to feel a bit snug.

Baby measures up to an avocado, now, and weighs 3 1/2 ounces. (Length: 4 1/2 inches, head to bottom.) This week baby started growing toenails! Awww. And baby's heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day.

15 Weeks

Even though this is my 2nd pregnancy, I seem to be growing at the same rate as my first. I've gained 1 whopping pound this whole pregnancy but the doctor says everything looks right on track. I'm also finally feeling human again, which is such a relief. And, I'm getting a little of my energy back, too. Yay for 2nd trimester!

Baby Williams has grown to the size of an apple and weighs about 2 1/2 ounces. (Length: 4 inches, head to bottom.)

14 Weeks

Baby is the size of a lemon this week. Little Bitty is busy with thumb sucking, toe wiggling, and making urine. The liver, kidneys and spleen continue to develop, and lanugo (thin, downy hair) is growing all over the body for warmth.

10 Weeks

Me, at 10 weeks, trying to pretend I'm feeling halfway human. Hormones + nausea + exhaustion = unhappy mommy!

At 10 weeks, baby is the size of a kumquat, weighing less than a quarter of an ounce and the length is a little over an inch.

8 Weeks & Baby's 1st Photo

Baby Williams at 8 weeks. I had a small scare in the beginning so it was such a relief to see that there is really a baby in there and that his/her little heart was beating strong!

Baby is the size of a Raspberry this week. Average size: .63 in., .04 oz.

Big Sister Tay

We found out Christmas week that our family is going to be growing again ... and Taylor is going to be a big sister! Little Bitty Williams II will make his or her debut at the end of August.
